Seller Financing 101: Buy a business without a bank loan. No credit checks. No massive down payment. Just smart structuring.

Under seller financing, the vendor agrees to receive 20% to 50% of the overall purchase price over a 12–36 month period out of ongoing business profits.

Why do sellers agree? Because it provides them with a steady, tax-efficient income stream, reassures them that you won't ruin their legacy, and often yields a higher overall price than a fire-sale cash discount.

For the buyer, seller financing acts as the ultimate performance guarantee: if the seller misrepresented revenue or customer retention, you have recourse against future note payments.
